This is my attempt at making something simple for the walls. Saw something similar and thought it would be cool to use larger headed nails (these are roofing nails). My original intent was to use copper wire from cords I had collected over the years but the pieces were just too short. I opted for this metallic copper-colored thread instead and I really like the look. My hope is to frame this out with maybe a black frame and then invert the colors on another with a “J” for my man. 😀
I did encounter issues when putting the nails in. I just used a plywood, about 1/2 in. These nails are a little heftier so they had a tendency to pop out. I then started to just nail them in, pull them out, and then just applied some super glue inside the holes and then replaced the nail. I’d assume that if the wood were thicker and I could drive them a bit deeper, it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue. Took a little longer my way but it is solid.
