Hello visitor and welcome to my magical world of mayhem and insanity!
My name is Steven Selby and I am a 30-something living in Michigan. I would consider myself a freelance designer though jobs are often few and far apart. Most of what you’ll see here is just random things I find funny or projects I’ve gotten the urge to work on. I live with my two partners and we have two, bratty cats. We always seem to be fixing, renovating, working in the garden, or some other project. We stay pretty busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve really enjoyed art since I was a kid. I don’t work much in traditional mediums these days, but I do try and paint and sketch by hand every so often. The majority of what you’ll see here is going to be computer generated stuff. I have no formal training with Photoshop or Illustrator so I’ve just been stumbling through those programs and picking up things little by little.
As far as influences I would say that I’m inspired by surrealism, comic books, cartoons, pop culture, and anime. I tend to be drawn to very vivid, saturated colors. I am very interested in mythology and animals so I’ve got a few “series” that I’ve started within the site that showcase some of those themes. I have Native American roots also so some of that iconography or imagery tends to make its way into some of my work.
