“Anemone”

This is another one of my more recent paintings. This was actually a gift for my mother-in-law. She wanted something for a large wall in the living room. I fought with this piece for a LONG time. I didn’t really know which direction to go. The background is a testament to my indecision and I can assure you that this canvas was just about every color under the rainbow before I settled on this. In the end, I figured “why not just go with something that is genuinely pretty and that works with the room?” So I decided on this anemone flower. The colors in the room are kind of dark so I went with bright, vibrant colors. In the end, I was happy with it and my mother-in-law ended up loving it too (even though she had to wait a while to get it).
