I had a request from one of Joel’s co-workers to make this turkey lollipop holder. All the components seemed easy enough so I decided to take a stab at it. I started with a 1×10 pine board and cut out all my shapes with a jigsaw. Everything got a good sanding to round out the edges and then a coat of stain to all the parts that were going to be brown. After stain was dried I painted all the colored portions with some acrylic paint and a white paint pen. A coat of polyurethane to seal things up after it was assembled. It has some flaws and some imperfections but I think that adds to the handmade charm. I think I’ll make another for myself next year and maybe try to be a tad more precise with my painting and spacing of the holes for the lollipops. Overall though, I’m pretty pleased I was able to make something that looked as good as this turned out. And Joel’s co-worker was very pleased as well so that is the most important part.
