This week’s Monster is the Thunderbird. This is a creature that shows up in the legends of many native tribes. It is said that the beating of its wings cause high winds and the gathering of the clouds as well as the rumble of thunder. When it blinked, it would create a flash of lightning. This is honestly one of my favorite creatures of legend. While being a part of a Native American tribe, I have always been fascinated with birds for some reason. It might be that detachment from the earth and being able to experience a place somewhere between the land and the heavens. Birds kind of represent freedom and quiet power. Not to mention that I’m just in love with how this picture came out.
