Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and is usually the time I craft a lot. Decorations are expensive and often times I have an idea of what I want but it doesn’t exist…so I make it myself!
I’ve been wanting just a large, statement piece for my front yard. So it had to be a jack-o-lantern. This measures about 24″x24″ and definitely makes an impression! It is just some extra plywood I had from a previous project.
Cut out my shape with a jigsaw, primed, spray painted a base color, and then added details with acrylic paint. A coat of polyurethane to seal it up and I was done! Still trying to think of how I want to get it to stand though. Was thinking of just screwing some stakes into the back so it could be pushed right into the ground…we shall see! Turned out pretty well though and I’m happy with the results!
