I will openly admit that pencilwork is NOT my strong suit. I feel it is important to push one’s self as an artist and work with as many different mediums as one can. This was just a recreation study of the cover of my “Interview With A Vampire” DVD. I was happy that most of Tom Cruise’s face was in shadow. It allowed me to be a little less particular. This was done a while ago, and if I had to do it again, I would try to realize more of the face and more hair as well. What I learned in art class as far as pencil goes, your darks can almost always be darker. Deeper shadows would probably help here.
